Default No crank, no start :(

I've had trouble with no crank/no start for a couple years. I've learned a few things (except what the problem is and how to fix it along the way).

-I can bypass the problem using the after market remote start (I just ****ed this up so I'm up a creek).
-it will always be no crank no start in cold weather, however the warmer it gets it may actually start.
-side note to last point, I have to turn the ignition to of, let fuel pump engage and then turn. Sometimes it works better if I step on the gas, don't know why.

I changed the ignition lock cylinder about two years ago, I don't know what's the problem. I almost think it's that after market alarm/remote start?

I'm a little desperate right now because I have a Monte that goes nowhere and an angry girlfriend that told me to push that **** out of the driveway so one of us can get to work. Let me know if y'all can help.

Thanks!

That remote start is suspect. How long has this been happening? Who installed the remote starter? Last full tune up/maintenance - spark, fuel filter, etc. What year car and engine? Battery age? Battery Cables in good condition including grounds? Start works in perfect order?

MY memory is hazy in length, between 2-3 years. As for who installed it, I can't tell you. My ex owned the car before me so they probably installed in in 2002 or 2003 (it's an 02 produced in September 01). Whoever did it is out of business by now, they usually fold after a few years back up there. The remote says Astra and 433 Hz. Plugs and plug wires were done two years ago (12k miles ago). Fuel filter 6k, battery is a year old and cables are fine. It's got the 3.8 L LS. When the start does work it's fine, but again using a key is mostly unsuccessful.

This car has done all kinds of weird **** over the years. The cruise cuts in and out. The traction control goes ape**** the first speed hump you go over (I live in Atlanta). It's a former Ohio car. The fuel level sensor is shot too, forgot about that one.

How skilled are you and what tools do you have or are you going to have someone work on it?

If it were me I'd start by removing the aftermarket module. Then try to isolate the cause. How do you know the cables are good? I would also put a remote starter switch to the starter to ensure the starter is all good. This is the kind of process we will need to follow in order to start isolating the problem.
