No crank issue please help!
I am new to this forum and was hoping someone could please help me!
I have a 2005 Monte Carlo LS 3.4L
This all started about a couple of weeks ago. The first thing I noticed was that when I try to use the turn signal they wont come on or blink they just making a horrible buzzing noise coming from the hazzard switch. I proceded to replace the switch but the turn signals still dont work and they still make a buzzing noise. (Hazzards work fine)
The next thing that came up was while my car was warming up one day in the driveway it just shut off like if you just turned the key off. This happens almost every other time now.
And NOW... The car will only start in neutral! When it does start, it starts right up with no hesitation. When I try to start it in park nothing happens besides the guages and all i here is the fuel pump clicking. If I let the car stay running and shut it off after about 10 min it wont start even if its in Neutral.
There is no security light on and THE MIL light is not on either. Aslo I checked all the fuses.
I had both the alternator and battery checked there all set.
Also replaced the MAF.
I really hope someone can help me cause im getting frustrated.
Thank You in advance

Considering it does start in Neutral, its the neutral safety switch
Either check to see if its unplugged, frayed wire or grounding out some where...Otherwise, just replace the neutral safety switch and the starting problem should be resolved.

I'm thinking its the multifunction switch for the turn signals, But I'm not sure... Or it could be that the cable on the shifter maybe stretched out and out of adjustment...
Maybe someone else will chime in on how to fix your other issues.

Also with your directional switch. If you replaced the hazard switch, the only other things in that circuit is wires a fuse and the switch on the column.
When you replaced your MAS did you put in a genuine GM part? I replaced my MAS with an aftermarket one from E-Bay, just to have to buy the dealer part for $195 a month later. Had to hold the peddle to get it to stay on when it was hot for about a minute. Then it would stay running. And it wouldn't do anything when I tried to remote start it.
Its the same transmission. But If your like me and not willing to get this deep into a trans....
I would consider having a professional shop handle it.

That Diagram Is For The 98 Monte So That's Probably For The Dual CaM 3.4L. Not Sure But I'm Guessing The Transmission Is Going To Be Different also
