Default Negative cable replacement

My 2000 monte ss needs a new negative battery cable. The new cable I bought has two wires with lugs and a small wire with a red crimpable open end. The old cable runs between the front of the engine and the radiator. I need to know where the cable ends terminate. When i looked at where the transmission is secured to the engine, I saw a black cable secured to the housing by a large nut. Is this the terminating end of the negtive battery cable? Any suggestions?

I thought mine needed one and it turned out all I needed was the battery bolt which was almost gone. Threads were rolled over and it would not tighten up.
