Believe me, if I had it my way everything would get done all at once. But I'll be on his clock so gotta work with his schedule. But it's cool though, he's gonna show me how to do my brakes so I can't complain. At least this way I'll be able to remove my calipers and get them painted the right way, so it's a win-win!

After dinner I decided I wanted to get a jump on the prep work on my rotors so I cleaned one up and got it all masked off and ready for paint, check it out.

It took about an hour to get that one done So tomorrow i'm going to get the other rear one done and get some paint on both of them, hopefully have them both finished up and ready to install. I'll post more pics tomorrow night of my progress

Man, it was hot today, 99 degrees. So when I got home I can't way I was all that motivated to get going on these brake rotors. But I kinda had no choice since they're getting installed this weekend. So I showered, ate dinner, watched some MNF and then got busy and here are my results.

Thanks. I hope not. The stock rotors that have been on my car since it was first sold are only slightly rusty and it's on the hat and edges so hopefully by me painting them it will improve the cosmetics and slow down the formation of rust. The paint I used is Rustoleum Black Engine enamel.

As for the rims, I change my mind on what one's I want everytime I look for them so it's gonna be a game time decision

I just need to talk to Jim, the owner, and get confirmation on the pads and I think that's the route i'm going to take.
I got mine from there and not one problem in over 100k miles. Got a friiend with them also and nothing wrong in over 75K. They are made in china but they are made withh quality materials, I will say the pads suck as far as keeping dust off your rims, you'll be cleaning the wheels everyday from the dust.

Thanks, I hope so too.

Man, another ridiculously hot day here. It may have been only a degree or two hotter than yesterday but man, it felt like 10-15 degree's hotter. So after I showered and cooled off I got busy. While I was out and about today I stopped at Big Lots to pick up some painters tape since I have very little left. Two 1.5" rolls for $2.50, sweet! Well, not so much. I began masking off my front rotor and quickly realized the tape I bought was garbage, it was harder to cut even though it seemed to be thinner, and it didn't stick to itself very well. I did the best I could with the crap tape, then taped down the raised edges with the good stuff and crossed my fingers that I didn't get any bleed through.

I guess luck was on my side cause it came out nice! Whew, dodged one here. Note to all, DON'T USE NO-NAME BRAND PAINTERS TAPE FOR THIS JOB. Pay a little more and get the good stuff, you'll be happy you did. But enough talk, here's the pics.

I'm gonna pick up a roll of some good painters tape tomorrow and get the last front rotor done and then I play the waiting game.

Appreciate it! Nice, powder coating would be the ideal way to add some color to your calipers, especially at that price!

Finally! All rotors are painted and ready for install! Well, one is still wet but you know what I mean. I also got confirmation that my paint has been shipped! I ordered the paint/clear and a iPod Touch charging kit (just to put my order total over $25 so I could get free shipping) from amazon and got shipping confirmation today but it's two separate packages. The first one was the iPod charging kit, which shipped out today and will be here tomorrow. After seeing that I was juiced thinking my paint would get her by Friday....nope, won't be here until next wednesday But it's cool cause I still haven't rcvd status on my custom "Monte Carlo" decals i'm having made. I might have to get in touch with them and see what's up cause it's been 3 days now and I haven't heard a peep from them, not a good first impression.
