I have a 95 z34 SS, and when I'm accelerating into about 3rd gear (3 RPM) my tranny starts acting like I just shifted into neutral! What is the cause of this and what can I do to fix this?

Hopefully it's a vacuum issue, I think the 95's had a vacuum modulator on the transmission (I could be wrong though). Otherwise, check the transmission fluid level... If the fluid is OK then it likely needs a rebuild.

the Car may only need a Transmission fluid and filter change check the fluid and see what it looks like.
Make sure you have serviced the Trans and it might only need a fluid change.

At ignition, car starts off idling almost 2 rpm and slows down. When put into drive and accelerating, if you barely press the gas pedal, it will shift fine, but if you step on it , it will run the rpm's past 4 like it's on neutral
