Half *** tossing around the idea of replacing my 00 SS with an 04ss Supercharged with the sport apearance package. I currently have a trailer hitch on my 00 to haul my dirt bikes. But all the hitches i look at say they wont fit the SS sport apearance package. Why is this. Is it something i can make fit but will have to mod the rear ground effects?

 

I believe it is because of the ground effects kit. Also, I believe they sit a little lower (or so it seems) because of the kit and I don't think they're rated to tow. I would check into that.

 

It is the ground effects package on the rear bumper. (obviously)

I've got the setup if you want to buy one. I used it to tow my boat about 5 times until I got my truck. Worked out great.

I paid $160 after shipping. I'd be willing to sell for $130 shipped. I can send pics if you want.

 

So you are telling me that it can be done. I have the hitch already for my 00 SS w/o apearance package.(assuming same hitch for 04) .

 

I don't know how diffrent it is but I have it on my '06 MCSS and it works fine. Looks good too!

 

Basically, what you do ... is take the "U-Bend" that you deleted from the exhaust and add it to the end of the Trailer Hitch!

 

GM at one time offered a hidden hitch for the high sport models , Stopped in 2004 look around you may find one left over, I will see if i still have the part # that i bought from a dealer in new
mexico, work great and look the same when not using it.
