Default Monte Carlo Radio Issues

Hi.. my 2006 Monte Carlo ss is having weird issues. It will not load a CD. I can not push a cd into the slot.. and it says that there is no cds currently loaded. It is the multiplayer cd system by the way.. it's loaded. I also have weird popping noises when i hook my 4th gen ipod touch to the car and it like makes weird banging noises if i bump the wire. It doesn't happen if i use an older ipod nano of mine. Any solutions? The CD player issue is the most annoying..

hmm they make this cd that cleans inside of your player. it looks like just a normal cd but has little brisles on top. maybe try that? maybe a fuse went bad or something? for the ipod thing.. maybe its the ipod touch that maybe wrong or maybe the cord? not sure exactly what it could be.. someone on here should know!

I second the double din idea, I've never personally had one but I bout a cheap high wattage radio for my grand am GT when I had it and it really woke up my stock premium sound system sounded much better people always aske dme if i Had 8s or 10s for subs in there and I was like uhhh its all stock except the aftermarket head unit lol.

I actually ran into the same problem earlier this year with the 6-disc CD changer in my 06 SS. I had it loaded, but something happened the one time and it didn't recognize any of the discs as if it was empty, but I couldn't eject any of the discs. Try the fuse box under the hood. Pull the "RADIO" fuse, for the audio system, and put it back in. If I can remember right, that solved my issue with that.

I would imagine your gonna need an unlock code for the radio if you pull the fuse. I also agree with getting an aftermarket stereo, $100-200 can get you a nice new 1

I didn't need an unlock code for that situation. I can say my problem was while I was installing my sub in the car. Not sure what happened with the CD changer through all of the playing around, but something tripped it to not read any of the discs I had loaded prior to the work. Pulling the fuse reset it, but I didn't need an unlock code.

Did the 2006 mc SS come with an amp? I still am not sure what stereo system my car came with. I have the 5 disc changer with a grey box in the trunk.
