Exclamation Monte Carlo bumping

My 1995 Monte Carlo LS bumps slightly on mid-acceleration. It does fine full throttle, but I'm worried. The check engine light has been coming on recently and I can't afford transmission repairs... Any suggestions?

That sounds kinda like what's happening with my Z34. It feels like a slight wobble, or maybe wavering is a better word, in the power delivery in drive (3rd gear) at around 40-45 mph, esp. when going uphill. Otherwise the trans does great, shifting smooth and upshifts/downshifts when it should. In my case there's no check engine light though. Wonder what it could be...

Solved. I put a can of seafoam in the gas tank and crank case and it's smoothed out for the most part.
