Default Lower Control Arm Bushing

i got my driver side hub changed last week, then i my self changed my brakes and rotors. Now my mechanic is telling me that my lower control arm bushing needs to be replaced....is this hard to do? and is there a write up some where on how to do it?...if not can you tell me how? the want to charge me over 170. so if i can do it myself id be much happier.

its as easy as disconnecting the control arm, tapping out the bushings and installing new ones.

I had this same issue come up with the shop i brough my car to get service on. They said the bushing needed to be replaced on my left front side and it'd cost between $150-$180. Where is this bushing located and how would I get to? Is it a tough fix or a quick fix? What parts am I looking/asking for at Autozone? Cost? Thanks in advance. I'm far from a car expert and any advice would be much appreciated.

I would let the professional do it, if you don't know where your control arm is.

good luck trying to tap the bushing out it's not as easy as it sound. gonna need special tool to press those bushing out. the easiest way to do is buy the complete lower control arm from wbody store dot com or go to orielly. moog make the lower control arm cost $300 for both sides with already new bushing and ball joint. also they have greaseable fitting on them the stock one don't.

Default Opposite Bushing Installation

01 monte carlo ss 3.8 147000

Replaced passenger side lower control arm bushing....went to replace the driver side....but the bushing that needed to be replaced was upside down or opposite the way the passenger side was installed...Is this right...or should I replace the driver side just like passenger
