Angry Low idle, rich mixture, stalling. Please help!!!

I have a 1985 Monte with a 4.3 v6 and a tbi. I just rebuilt it from a blown head gasket a few weeks ago. New cap, rotor, plugs and wires too. Also replaced fuel filter. For whatever reason, the car smells like its running rich, and it idles very low. I dont have a tach so i cant say the rpms. When its in gear and the engine is hot, it stalls and dies. It starts right back up though. So it isnt spark. I think its an air prblem. Any ideas on speeding up the idle and leaning it out?

I've got a 5.3 Tahoe with throttle body that had the same issue (although my RPM's fluctuated). Cleaned the tb, especially around the blade, and it seems to have fixed the issue. Also sounds like it could be a vacuum leak. Do you have any SES codes?

Hey dude I know this is a dumb question but what’s a TB? When you said to clean around the blade? I got the same car and it’s literally doing the same thing the first guy is going through but I didn’t have a clue on what was going and it took me 3 weeks to find this, please help your boy out

Throttle body.

Just google "(your specific engine) throttle body" and youll see exactly what it is. The blade inside is what regulates most of the airflow.

Might want to check that the EGR valve isn't stuck open.
