I have a 2004 monte ss, 52,006 miles and the 3.8 non s/c engine, When i jump in the throttle on the highway or at a dead stop theres a loud pop inside the car, could this be a motor mount/ trans mount? theres no repeting pop, but it does do it in drive and reverse... could someone please direct me as to what to look for? This is my first fwd car...

 

I cant think of what it could be. Could you have a problem with your intake. Mabye its your eyes sinking back to your brain! LOL

 

I think I know what your talkin about mine does it to but not all the time only occasionally mainly on first like ten minutes of starting for the day. Kinda sounds to me like poppin a dent out ya know?

 

I had this same problem a couple of months ago. It turned out to be the brace that is connected to the strut tower. After i tightened it up on both ends the noise went away and hasnt come back.

 

ya know that sounds about right, thats the right area the sound comes from, ill check mine this weekend lol
