how much power are you looking to get? you could get a simple mild cam or you can go all out with a huge cam and turbo

Speaking from experience, building an NA 3800 is just about a waste of time. I had one of the highest dynoed NA 3800's and if I would have just used that money on a turbo, I would have had twice the whp then what I ended up with.

Don't touch the crank if you do the build. Just mess with the cam.

yes,ive heard the bottom end is plenty strong enough to handle just about whatever you throw at it unless you do a wild setup,i was kind of sketchy on going the turbo route but il be going with the z7 turbo kit from zzp,il let you know how that goes

but if you just want a NA setup you can go with a XP HOT cam from zzp, thats the cam that I plan to use

if you want a nice sounding cam on a N/A 3800 get the NIC cam. i also agree turbo is the only way to go for big power gains. this is the route i went from day one on my build and love it. now remember these transmissions in these cars are garbage, if your planning to make big power plan to have dave at triple edge building you a performance transmission as well.

Hey Turbo could you give my an estimate on a trans. build from triple edge? a build that will safely hold up to a turbo

Come on and make the leap to a turbo system, then you get to smile when the build is complete...

easiest thing to do is call dave and talk with him. he will ask your hp goals and then set you up with a good trans and give you a price!
