Unhappy Locked out

Hey guys so I took my Monte off the road recently because of a steering fluiding leaking issue... I wasn't smart enough to take out the battery and now it's dead.

My FOB's won't unlock it and my keys won't allow me to manually open the door... the key will bend if I put any more pressure on it.

Any suggestions on how to get into my Monte other than calling someone for assistance.

I have and 06 SS

You tried Both doors and the trunk. I think there is a release for the back seats in the trunk. If your battery is charged or dead, you should be able to unlock the doors with the key, unless the ignition switch was changed.

Maybe visit an auto parts store for some lock lube to try and free up the door lock.

On the 06, there is no key lock on the trunk or passenger side, only the drivers door will unlock with the key. And he said that won't turn.
I would try some penetrating oil. Oil, insert, wiggle, repeat, and so on.

Or, you could try charging the battery with a battery tender or trickle charger. Without opening the hood, you can attach it underneath at the starter, and ground anywhere on chassis.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the tips guys I'll have to try that tonight. If those methods don't work any tips for "breaking in" like CAA/AAA would do?

They use a Slim Jim
Fits between window and window seal
Should be able to grab the rod from outside lock, goes forward to inside lock

Takes experience

On my old Z24, the CAA guy opened in under 1 minute

Then he let me try for 2 min, I never found the rod or anything and gave up
