Default Lil-Bitty bulbs behind Temp Control Levers?

Anybody have speific experience/knowledge on how to do this right and neatly?

Seems it could be a bit tricky for what ought to be a quick and easy job.

Thanks!

you gotta take it out of the dash,

crack it open, using a soldering gun heat up the connection until you can pull the bulb off, and then while the solder is hot use the new bulb and put it back on.

Then close everything up, and re-install.

"black",

Okay, wait, to do that? Are you serious? Doesn't what you are saying require removing at least part of the dash &/or console to get it out? (if not, how do you "crack it open?") To replace the light bulbs!!!

[i don't see any obvious way to remove that one section of the control panel.]

Thanks!

yes you have to remove the dash, then remove the heater controls, then open it up.

it's not easy, that's why if you take it to a dealership they say those bulbs are unserviceable and just try to replace the whole piece.

I have the same problem. After reading this, I will just let it go.

the easiest thing is probably just buying a new one and doing a swap.

bbengineer sells them, and he'll do the lights to colored LEDs.

Oooo! That is a bit ugly! I am not sure I want to go there either since the lights are the only apparent problem.

Thanks for the insight and the resource though.
