replacing climate control panel bulbs
Hi all,
I'm trying to replace the two burnt out bulbs (sliding temp adjusters) in my 2001 LS climate control panel. I've got the panel out and have removed the three tiny black screws on the edge of the backside and the four silver screws that are further in from the edge.
I had hoped the panel would then separate to get to the circuit board and bulbs but it's not working that way. Has anyone replaced these bulbs before?
Trying to figure out if I have to pull the control ***** off or what else to get this done and didn't want to force/break anything.
Greatly appreciate any advice you can offer!
Thanks!
Updated - I got the ***** off the two temp sliders and the fan speed but not the vent selector. It seems to be on really good.
2nd Update - Got the circuit board out. Was able to finally get the vent control off. It must have been loose at some point and the previous owner had put some type of glue on the shaft. There are 3 springs inside the backside part of the control that go between the electrical contact plate and shaft assembly that will fall out but it's clear where they need to go when reassembling. Hope this helps if you are going to try the same repair.

i need to do the same to my car. they would have to go in through the back. not exactly sure how it looks yet. on a gauge cluster, they are small bulbs with a plastic end that twist into the housing. no harness or anything. again not sure if these are the same, havnt really checked into it, sorry.
