One word. Turbo. It will be the best bang for buck, but that buck is a high price figure.$2500 but he will be running a 13 second car from a 16 second car.

i think that the 2500 number may be a lil intimidating for him [although i could be wrong] so do you think it would be possible to round up the SC from a SS SC car and swap that over andmaybe even do some intake and exhaust for about a grand?

intake and exhaust he can do for under a grand, but it's not going to get him much power

tell him to check out this site

You can put a supercharger on it but it costs about a grand to do. You will also probably need to do some other mods like CAI and downpipe which will be another 400 bucks. All in all he will have $1600 wrapped up in it going that route.

Picking up the turbo will give great power and will give good fuel economy.

I've heard of people going turbo for under a hundred bucks, but they do all the work and have access to good used parts.

The regular joe will prob have to buy new.
