I need help! I have a 2006 Monte Carlo 2LT with the 3.5. Recently, my Remote Keyless Entry stopped working. It has the unlock, lock, trunk, remote start keyfob. I have tried the Relearn function but all it does is flash then go right back to saying "Press to Relearn Remote." I don't know if this has anything to do with anything at all but the remotes happened to stop working at the exact time that I had a headlight go out. As in I hit the unlock button, the headlamp blew, then they remote wouldn't work any more that night and haven't since. Could just be a weird coincidence but I thought that it was worth mentioning. This was a GM Certified vehicle when I bought it and I have an extended warranty but am afraid that the company won't cover this issue due to the fact that I got into some legal problems and now have a breathalyzer installed in my Monte. For the record, the breathalyzer was installed well before the remotes quit on me. If there is anyone out there that can help me, I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks guys!

 

It may be coincidence, or the head light blowing may have caused a surge in the electrical system. Have you checked the door lock (DR/LCK) fuse to see if it blew? Since both FOBs quit working at the same time I don't think they are the source of the problem.

 

Checked the fuse, it is okay.
