Our 2001 Monte Carlo is driving my wife and I nuts. The keyless remote was destroyed and now every time we start the thing the lights start flashing for a few minutes (the sound was turned off years ago). Any instructions on how to deactivate the alarm? The manual says you need to go through the radio and the settings but it does not seem to have the setting for the alarm. Any help for these deranged folks would be appreciated.

No luck? If there is no information on how to turn the thing off, how about a new remote? Anyone ever replaced it witha aftermarket or original and how much? Thanks...
