Default Just bought one...

Hey all, I just picked up a 2005 SS and I just had a few quick questions. It only has 53,xxx miles so I'm wondering what you all suggest needs to be done to it maintenance wise. Also, besides exhaust/intake, what other mods are there to do and where? Anything like stage upgrades for the S/C like the Cobalts? Thanks!

Headers, cam, intercooler, tuned PCM, lower pulley size, defeat foes.

Hi SanJay & Welcome to the Monte Carlo Family...

Congrat's on your purchase...Do you have the past service records ? How many owners ? What area of the country do you live ? Was it's garaged ? Do you know how it was driven by previous owner(s) ? What is your budget or how much can you afford to replace worn items ? How do you rate your Monte Carlo ? A-B-C- D- `F ?

I suggest you explore the MCF & you will learn a lot about your Monte Carlo + more..

Below is a basic link on what you should consider doing on a ride that has over 50K miles...

There's lots of stuff you can do! Top swaps, headers, intake, exhaust (keep it tame) and tons of stuff.

There is tons of information on the site for everything that you could ever want to do to your Monte.

Search around, learn and have fun!

Look here: https://montecarloforum.com/forum/en...-bumpin-24896/

Good luck!

Thanks all! Lots of replies and questions! I'm up in Washington State. I'd give it an A-. No dents but a couple small, buffable scratches, and I do know it had one owner, an older gentleman whom obviously loved the radio because the radio buttons on the steering wheel are worn, haha.. It drives just as well as the car I traded in (2011 Mazda 2 with 14,xxx miles). It is silver with the red/black trim striping down the door/hood. I don't smell any coolant/oil when I pop the hood after getting some spirited driving in. I don't have any service records but judging by the paint and body it was either garaged or parked in seclusion. My 10 month old brand new Mazda already had a ding by 14k miles :\

Welcome to the site. The radio buttons wear pretty easily but they come up for sale on here every so often.
