ISS Self Fix??

After you are done, you take the plug out of the shaft. And yes, you use all of the grease in the kit.

GM has a 6 page Service Information Bulletin, Document ID# 1761768. Your local GM dealer's Service Advisor would, or at least should, be happy to print one out for you, free of charge. Mine did.

GM has a 6 page Service Information Bulletin, Document ID# 1761768.
Your local GM dealer's Service Advisor would, or at least should, be happy to print one out for you, free of charge. Mine did.
It shows how to do this fix yourself, but you HAVE to use their special thicker grease (supposedly).
It is: Steering Column Shaft Lubrication Kit, P/N 26098237.
Published Labor Operation Time is 1.1 hrs. to R&R & lube ISS, near as I can figure.
