info on cowl hood for seventh generation monte
To be honest silver you do have a point they were originally designed for cars that had higher intake manifold and carb set up. the newer designed ones that are functional do help a little on the air flow. Also have as well a different curve to the stereo impalla front end that we have. I had at work some one walk up to my monte by accedent thinking it was his impala. we both had the same collor. He didnt realise he walked to a monte instead of a impala. not just that i dont think he knew he had four doors. compared to our half car length doors. I asked him really you can i help you your trying to get into mine while his was next to mine. i called the cops after he got into his car gave them his tag made a report. he also was on the phone.
Depending on the setup they do/can supply an additional amount of air to the intake.
Matt,
A Ram Air type hood may be functional, depending on the setup as you said.
A Cowl Induction hood will serve no purpose because the true meaning of a cowl induction hood is that it takes air from the Cowl area (where the hood meets the windshield).
Just my 2 cents, coming from a '71 Chevelle SS owner with a Cowl Induction Hood
