Not very familiar with the '02 models. Are you able to post a pic of the throttle body? I MAY be able to talk you through it.

I can but it may take me a while. My understanding it that there is an idle speed control valve - don't know if that can be adjusted - and have heard some suggestion that the only adjustment available is through programming changes. No sure.

On a LOT of cars there is a screw underneath the throttle wire that can be screwed in causing the idle rpm to increase. Again, I am not familiar with the '02 Montes. I would like to help you if I can. Why are you trying to increase the idle speed?

I have done that screw adjustment before and I belive it causes some flooding between starts and was only minimally effective. I need to adjust because after doing some engine work, including a performance cam, the idle speed is too low. This causes problems in traffic and sometimes just sitting as it will die unless I compensate with the throttle.

You'll need to adjust the idle with tuning software like HP Tuners or DHP PowrTuner. The idle speed is controlled by your PCM controlled Idle Air Control (IAC) motor that opens and closes as per PCM instruction to allow air to bypass your throttle blade and adjust your idle.

Where are you located?
