hi everyone , i just finished fixing my horn problem on my 2001 monte ss if you had the same problem air bag stuck and horn wont turn off... heres the fix remove the air bag take off the red horn wire inside the column and then the black ground thats on the air bag my buddy and me just cut them off use the ends you cut off go buy your self a push button horn i bought on from princess auto cost ten bucks mines a skull head its so cool use two sided tape to attach it to the wheel the back of it by the signal switch ,drill a small hole behind the steering wheel to put the wires back through we sodered them and shink wraped them also, replug the red wire back in its hole and put the black one back on the air bag this will ground the switch and then put it all back together honk honk it works and does not interfear with the steering wheel this will save you money so you dont need to replace your air bag............. i hope this helps someone.............

 

I was going to put push button swicth on mine,But I found air bag on ebay at a fair price.....GM was way to high on price .They will not sell just horn contact ????

 

i was going to go that route to jerry but my friend offered to help me look at it and we came up with this method i"m so happy with the way it looks and works and thank you so much for your suggestion to it gave me something to think about....thanks todd

Hey Todd if you like I have a 2001 complete steering column and steering wheel with air-bag intact and horn contacts in great condition when removed from my Monte. Make me an offer and remember I'm a Monte Carlo Man so I wont be rediculus with the cost besides it's just collecting dust Dredd
