Default Hood Won't Open

So spontaneously my hood lever stopped opening the hood. It's as if the lever isn't even connect when I pull it, I can hear a noise in the hood like the wire is trying to pop it open but it's not popping open. Anybody ever have this happen to them before? Any advice? Thanks guys

Have someone punch on the hood where the hinge is while you pull on the lever. It'll pop open it's just sticking. After you open it soak the hinge with WD40 so problem won't persist.

Shoot, the thing is that I already tried it. Wiggled it,
Moved it up & down; finessed it and it still hasn't opened

Here is a video on another way to open a Monte Carlo's hood, skip to 7:45 and see it's still hard to open even with one of these.

But in all seriousness, I don't have a clue as I spoke to my mechanic before about this scenario and he said it would be very difficult. Keep us posted as to how you finally get her open. Unfortunately your it! Get to be our guinea pig test car. Really hope it is not as big as an ordeal as in the video...

You can attempt getting at the hinge from the bottom of the car

This is for a B body, but it might be applicable to the W body as well...

Man, why did you even share that; that's horrible! Such a beautiful car, lol. But dang, I see. Yeah I'm going to ask a mechanic or somebody at AutoZone maybe that could help out and I'll definitely let you guys know the resolution.

Thank you Mike, I appreciate that reply & the video along with it. I check under there but wasn't able to find the backup lever that the guy reached up in between there for. I was able to look at a few other things and will thoroughly try all of the possibilities tomorrow once I'm able to get a little free time. I feel that I'm getting closer to a solution though.

Alright guys, I figured out what the problem is. So the cable that is connected to my good release and the lever to pop it open under the hood is overstretched. Meaning that the hood release doesn't pull the cable far enough to open the lever to pop open my hood. I have to buy a new cable through a dealership to get it replaced. In the mean time what I can do to open my good is disconnect the cable from the good release and use a pair of pliers to pull the cable far enough to open my hood. If you have the same problem do this, but be sure to pull the release all the way and then pull the cable with the pliers.
