6th Gen ('00-'05): Here's one I bet no one has come across ... Ugh!

Here's an electrical short-out I bet no one has come across ... Ugh!
Went out for the first trip of the spring since December 4th, & I am listening to tunes & all, & for some reason I depress the TRAC CNTRL button to turn it "OFF".
It RESET my radio!
I was listening to a CD, & the radio went fully off, then right back on, & kept playing where it left off on the CD ...all setting the same. The Light on the dash or TRAC came on properly. I hit the button again to activate TRAC, & the radio was fine. I hit it again to turn OFF, & it reset the radio again.
It continues to do this every time I turn the TRAC off, but not when I turn it back on. It is an instant off/on, I do not have to hit the power button to turn it back on or anything.
I have an aftermarket (Pioneer) headunit that I installed last year, & I have never ran into this phenomenon before
?!?
