Default Hello, One more thing about the COMPUTER CFM ?

Hello, I bought an EXTRA PCM unit for my Monte, its from a Dale Earnhardt spec ED. (Im not sure if its programmed diff then my reg Monte ss) But my guestion is, Ive heard of some guys "sending the unit in to have it reprgrammed for better proformance, milage, shift points, tire size, etc..." I want to send in the NEW unit but have no clue where to send it to. Have any of you heard of this practice? It even stated that you MUST use 93 OCTANE fuel after the reprogram. I realy want to do this, so any information would be great... thanks guys.... MJ

The best thing to do is go somewhere and have your Monte dyno tuned, but if you can't do that then check this out: http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_p...=182&catid=107

Contact ZZP as well if you have any questions about their tune. It won't be "perfect" for you, but it will be a start. A word of advice, I would do a bunch of mods before I had my PCM tuned. The more you do, the more you will want to tune your PCM. I've had mine tuned 5 times so far.

Also, I don't know much about the special edition 6th gen Monte's but as long as that PCM isn't from a supercharged Monte it will work in your car.

I used NGK TR55's gapped at .060" when I was NA. They're $14 for all six plugs. ZZP offers them here: http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_p...=240&catid=109

The only downside is that you have to change them more frequently, but they're really inexpensive, so I always figured that it was worth it.
