I just purchased a 04 MC and have had never driven one before this one.
The steering seems to be kind of stiff into turns. The Power steering seems to be working ok (maybe weak?). There is no sugeing or flat spots when it turns. Its almost like steering on sand or something. Ive driven quite a few trucks and ford cars, but this is my first chev. None seem to have quite this stiff of steering. Is this normal for this car?

is the power steering fluid looking alright? could be thick or not enough

 

Have you checked the PS fluid?

 

Well, I know my monte is the stiffest steering car I have ever had. I dont know if this mean anything though??

 

Do you know if there is any documentation on the work that was done on the car? Maybe recently the ISS (intermediate steering shaft) was replaced.

Or maybe you just need to grease it some?

 

I have an 04 as well and yes. you will come to find out the
ps on this model sucks!!! On the highway is steers fine but
get into traffic not moving and its warmed up, good luck
it will take both hands on the wheel to get it just like manual
steering.
