Default hard starting

ok, been havin problems with my 97 monte. first off, it sat for 2 years with the batt. disconnected. when i finally got around to it, i did the manifold gasket replacement, and a new egr as well. put a new battery in, and it takes forever for it to finally start. almost to the point of killing the battery. when i do get it going, it idles fine but has a bad hesitation when i throttle it, until it warms up. now i know that the pcm loses its memory when the battery is disconnected, and has to relearn all the values again. but this happens everyday. oh, and once its running and warmed up. it will restart like normal. i`m starting to pull my hair out. any ideas what is causing this ??? Thanx

Default RE: hard starting

First I would do a quick tune up: air filter, plugs and wires and go from there.

Thanks for the reply. I`ve done the plugs( those back 3 are a real pleasure lol) air filter, pvc, oil change, coolant change. Have not done the wires yet. will try that next. I was thinking maybe a fuel problem, but it`ll rev to 3000 without stumbling. just hard to start when cold, and a bad hesitation.
