I would completely take the throttle body off the engine to clean it. The side facing the engine is going to be the dirtier of the 2.

Take the intake hose off, take the engine cover off. Unbolt 3 bolts and the connectors and the TB slides right off. 89 IN/lb when you put it back on.

Bank 1 o2 sensor is on the rear manifold. Not the easiest to get to, but not entirely hard either.

Does a dirty throttle body plate cause poor mpg or is that just the mechanic wanting more money n the 02 sensor is the real cause of my poor mpg

A dirty throttle plate is would be able to drop your MPG's as much as driving against the wind I'd say. Which equates to about nothing is what I'm saying. Unless your throttle plate is sticking, a dirty plate can only get so dirty, unless you actually have like a 1" layer of crap on it which is highly unlikely. I'd say you'd get more benefit out of taking off your intake and spraying some MAF cleaner on your MAF.

Well, where the hell did that come from???? Ahhh double post, me so sowee.
No worries, I just thought it was funny that's the first thing I told him in the other thread.

Hey on my fuel pressure regulator I just noticed the cap for my test port is missing. Could that cause it to leak air or anything of sorts?
