Default Fuel Part melted!!!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!

I wont get into how it happened but there is this part shown in the picture that is melted and spewing fuel. It's mostly the cap and not the hose.

What is this part and do I have to go to a dealership to get one??

i honestly couldn't tell you what the exact name of that is, best bet get a few picsof it and bring it the pics to the dealership, even pull it off and bring it to the dealer and they should be able to help you out

^ this

You most likely will have to go to the dealer for this part. Or you could get the part number from the dealer and try and find one online.

Damn Damn Damn Damn Damn

Anyone else have a 3800 Series 2 engine that may be able to pull a part number for me? It's really easy to see if your cover is off and fuel hasn't rubbed off any sort of markings that were once on there.

Got to the parts store and look in the DorMan HELP area. I'm pretty sure I've seen that connector there.

SWEET! That's the one! Thanks very much!

It will cost @25 just to ship it but the local Lordco had it for $16! Now it's just the matter of finding out how it fits. Do you heat it up to form it? *shrugs*

Here is another shot just for the heck of it.

I believe that kit is mean to replace not just that connector, but the line (down to where it goes into metal). I've never had to replace a plastic/nylon line, so I'm not 100% sure. I think if you try to pop just the end off and pop a new end one, you'll have bigger problems.

I'm nearly sure it is used to connect nylon to nylon hoses by heating the ends up and sliding them both onto a brass junction (like most any hose couplings). I also believe they give you the connector and a long length so you can cut it to size.

I will likely slide a good thick piece of heat shrink over the end before I join it just for that added protection but I will be checking for leaks first.

Off to Lordco in 30 min. I may video tape it to get a good record of it, whether it fails or not.

I see they make repair kits that you can add on the metal connector with a compression gun and some holding blocks but that's not what I'm going to do
