The fuel gauge in my 1986 monte carlo ss doesnt work, when I first got the car it didnt work at all then I started reading about the ground back by the trunk and messed with it and now the fuel gauge works but goes way past the full mark and doesnt move until you turn off the car, does anyone have any clue as to what I might need to do in order to get my fuel gauge working properly, any and all information is greatly appreciated, and once agian thanks.....

 

This may sound crazy, but I've owned a few Corvette's. And sometimes I would have a fuel gauge problem. Ready for this Techron fixes a lot of the problems with GM fuel gauges. But some at Wal-Mart or Autozone. Plus put a few tanks of Chevron gas. It worked on my Vettes's. Good luck.
