Default Front end noise

My 01 ss has started make front end noise which sounds exactly like the sound rough terrain truck tires make on the road. I rotated the tires thinking maybe a front tire went bad or something. The noise didn't change at all. The car has 145,000 miles. Any ideas on my problem?

Get your front end off the ground. Can you wiggle the wheels at all?

I'll try that today. If they do what are your thoughts?

Usually means one or both the wheel hubs are worn out.

wheel hubs are easy to do. hadest thing is to get the actual hub bolt off, use penetrating oil alot of it for a day or two before trying, get a breaker bar (don't use a ratchet), get some pipe to go over the breaker bar for extra leverage, more penetrating oil, hit it with a hammer a few times, more oil, then have a go at it. Add heat if needed then more penetrating oil. It was the hardest nut or bolt i've ever taken off on the car.

The one upside to the whole thing is that the nut is out in the open so you're free to use any / every tool at your disposal to get it off. You can literally stick a 6 foot cheater pipe on it if you had to.

I've had a couple oddball sub frame / suspension bolts and crank bolts that were probably a bit lower torque but were harder to remove due to limited access.

That's exactly what it was. It was fairly easy actually. When I unbolted it, it fell apart. I was lucky as hell that didn't happen on the road. It's all fixed!
Thanks for the help everyone!!!!

Are all these wheel hubs the same? I have the Supercharged with the TPMS. I know it has ABS. I have found two that are alike. One appears to have a molded plug fixed to the back of the bearing, the other has a lose lead about 3 inches long with a clip. Are they both correct?
