Error code explanation
Sorry to start a new thread that's potentially on a well-discussed topic, but I couldn't find the exact details I'm looking for...car is a 2001 LS
I have the common traction light problem that seems to be associated with a bad wheel hub assembly (WHA). Using an OBDII reader I got the following codes:
C1221/C1222 LF/RF wheel speed sensor input is 0
C1225/C1226 LF/RF speed sensor variation
C1232/C1233 LF/RF speed sensor short circuit
Are these symptoms of the WHA? The speedometer measures accurately...
Thanks in advance for the feedback, and again sorry for starting a new thread on WHA, since it has been talked about multiple places before.

Since you are getting the same codes for both front wheels I'd be more inclined to think there is a problem with the wiring or a bad connection/short somewhere in the circuit. Check and clean the connectors at the wheel sensors, the ABS ground wire (located under the air box) and the two terminal strips that plug into the PCM (located in the air box).

As 03SSLE mentioned, it could boil down to a simplier problem. Getting a hold of the wiring test is handy. I believe GM has a document telling how to use a volt meter and ohm out the speed sensor itself.
My gut says you have two bad front wheel hub assemblies, but you'll want to validate it before just changing them.
FYI - The speed sensors in the wheel hubs on these cars have nothing to do with the speedo reading. They are used for the ABS and traction control systems. You have a vehicle speed sensor in the transmission.

I thought about both being bad also, but the chances of simultaneous failure is pretty high. Another thing that makes me lean towards circuit failure is no mention of the brake light also being on - something that usually accompanies the traction light when a hub fails. The history data would be a valuable tool at this point to see the sequence of events that led to triggering the light. If the wiring checks out okay having the PCM scanned would be the next thing I would suggest.
