Default ENGINE OIL

I have a 2000 Monte Carlo SS 3.8 with over 100,00 miles on it and I'm going to change the oil this weekend. I was wondering with so many miles on Monte should I use a different weight of oil ? I have been using Castrol GTX 10W40. Your help is greatly appreciated.

10-40 sounds thick to me. I've switched to 0-30 Mobil 1, but would recommend at least 5-30.
