Question Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor replacement

Hey everyone,

My check engine light recently came on my 2004 Monte Carlo (3.8 liter), went to Auto Zone to have it checked out and it read the P0128 code to replace the engine coolant temperature sensor. I am just curious if this is a job I can do myself, or should take it to a shop. I am somewhat mechanically inclined. I can't seem to find a video online of someone doing the repair on my engine, so if anyone knows of one that would be great too! Also, is there only one sensor on that engine?

Thanks in advanced,
AJ

ECT sensor is threaded into the lower intake right below the thermostat housing / upper radiator hose connection on the engine side. You'll just need to drain the coolant below that level to not make a huge mess. It's pretty high up in the system so it shouldn't take much.

Pretty easy to replace if you're good with tools.
