The BCM is located in the dash panel right above the driver's side kick panel. The only way to get it out that I know of is to take the dash apart. There might be an easier way to get to it, but I'm not sure. The other thing that it could be would be a short in the dash's wiring harness somewhere..

Do you know what it would cost at a dealership?

The BCM can cause a variety of odd electrical issues...mine was making a horrible clicking noise, as well as the headlamps/interior light flickering and not starting...

for what i paid they, read all codes, replaced the BCM, and flashed the BCM to match my VIN... the stealership can charge a premiuim when it comes to something like the BCM...it can only be flashed by a tech II.

have it tested for codes first, if the BCM is bad it will throw a fault code.

Probably a stupid question, but what is a fault code. And where can I get it tested?

My BCM didnt throw a code when it went bad...ASE mechanics told me it was working fine but they could not figure out the issues i was having.I told them to change the BCM...they finally listened and did just that...My monte has been good with the electrical since Feb 2011...Mechanics just scratched their heads when i drove out of the dealership shop smiling at them all the way LOL
