Exclamation EGR Valve Help

I have inspection coming up, and need to get my EGR valve sorted out, which keeps throwing two codes. I took off the valve and cleaned it out with carb cleaner. (I did not clean the passageways on the intake and exhast portion of the system though.) The two codes the ECU keeps throwing are P1404, and P0405. The P0405 is a "Sensor A Curcuit Low" code. When I cleaned the valve, I also used an electonics cleaner on the male and female portions of the EGR sensor connector. After cleaning everything I cleared the codes and drove to work. The P0405 code didn't come back, but the P1404 which is a "Closed Position Performance" code, came back imediately. Then after returning from my lunch break, I deleted the codes again. A few hours later, after the car was cold, I drove home. This time, the sensor curcuit code came on, but the closed position performance one did not. I found that very strange, and I can't tell if I need to replace my EGR valve or what the problem is. I've included pictures of the codes, and freeze frame data of the most recent P0405 code.
