Default delayed start

SO my 2004 ls has developed an issue. When I turn the key to start, nothing. And then 2-5 later the starter engages and starts the car. The starter does not sound weak or strained in any way. What are some possible issues?

I had this same issue with my car around Christmas time. They replaced what they called the "shift selector switch" and I haven't had an issue since.

Ok thanks for the heads up. I will try starting in nuetral tomorrow and see if that changes anything.

Nuetral made no difference when cold, but started normally in nuetral once warm.

Mine started in Neutral for a few days but then the starts became more random after that. Diagnosis/part/labor costed me just under $500, FYI.

My dad is a GM tech. He is gonna look at it this weekend. I was just hoping to get some sort of idea what it is before he gets here.
