Default Defrost not working

What would cause this? Everything else works as it should. Its just it blows out of the panel instead of where it should under the windshield. Started it the other day, it began to defrost the window but just stopped and started coming out the dash instead.

This one is on an 02 NA 3800, not my SS.

The selector switch operates via vacuum from the the engine. Open your hood, look to the firewall. There is a thin black vacuum line running along the firewall underneath the wiper cowls. It is routed along the back, travels over the left strut tower(passenger side), then down between the battery and fuse-box. From there it disappears into the wiring harness. Check the entire length of this plastic line for breaks or cracks, it is a good place to start.

Hey thanks man.. I didnt even bother checking for vacuum cause I thought it was on the other side of the firewall. Gonna check that later on. Hopefully it helps. Thats actually what I was wanting to hear, vacuum line...
