Default Dead Battery everyday, Blinking lights after car off, Speaker Noise

I have a 2002 MCSS, 260,000 miles, second engine and transmission w/these symptons:

1. Sometimes my lights start to blink after i turn the car off or they just stay on.

2. Hissing/Popping coming from passenger side speaker.

3. Dashboard/radio lights come on when they want to.

Any idea what this might be?

Thank you much,

WP

Have a battery/alternator test done at any local parts store. Start with that. You may have a battery at end-of-life not holding a charge. When the charge is too low for all the car's systems, it tends to get a little wacky.

My '04 would drain the battery after a week of none-use. When it did, I often caught the back up lights blinking (was a sign the car was dead tot he point it won't restart). I replaced the battery (as it failed the battery test). The alt passed all test stations I took it too for a bench test except ONE station (long story but it was taken to 3-4 part stores). I did not replace it since it passed all but one test, but shortly after it was making a burning electrical smell, I replaced it and no problem since.

I had this EXACT same problem. My amp wouldn't turn off when the car was turned off so I always had to pull the fuse for the radio (located on the passenger side). I took the car to GM and they couldn't figure it out. My lights didn't do anything weird, but my battery would die over night and it was brand new.

I even tried a new amp, but that didn't make any difference. I could still hear the static sound through all speakers when the car was shut off.

Sorry that I can't offer any assistance, but I am interested in what the solution is. In the meantime, I do have an amp bypass. If you are interested in it, PM me for details.

I have an on/off switch for my amp!

That should cure your issue!

Well you are ahead of the game isolating it to the amp.

Is all the car's stereo gear still factory or aftermarket (radio and amp specifically). As I understand, aftermarket radios have a wire to initiate the amp to power on, but I'm not sure if the factory amp and radio function that way.

Either way, I'm wondering if the amp is not getting the power down signal.

Yes, everything is stock. Do you know which of these controls the amp & dash, the BCM or ECM?....

My guess is the BCM controls the amp. But unfortunately, I am not sure how that circuit is wired
