Default deactivating DOD

Just out of curiousity, what are the pros/cons of deactivating the DOD on a 06 ss? I have a friend that works at a Chevy dealership that could do it or would I need a tuner?

you could do it with a tuner. some ppl claim better mileage and some ppl claim worse. i personally did it almost right after i got the car and i dont think my fuel mileage is that much worse for it. plus you get rid of that annoying helicopter like sound.

Thanks for the reply monte man. Reason why i asked if the dealership could do it is because my friend works there and he'll probably charge like 20 bucks if anything at all. It'll save a couple hundred bucks.

It's good if you do an aftermarket exhaust system. Or a lot of city driving.
