dash question
the light behind the RPM gauge in my 02 SS seems like its either blown or severly faded, since its only on the far right side by the RPM gauge and the other lights still work would i be correct in assuming that its just one bulb thats blown? and does anyone know how hard of a swap this is and what bulb i would need? thanks
You can't replace it because it is a cluster. At least that is my understanding. Here is a link to follow to see if you can get it refurbished for a decent price or get a new one for a decent price. If you are able to get it refurbished, obviously you cannot drive your car until it is done. But you can call these people with questions. Maybe another member can shed some light on this too.

all of the dash and switch lights in our cars are "unserviceabel"
But do a serch here i did all of my dash lights and switch lights and changed them to L.E.D.'s
i have wrote a how to on it at least once.
But the dash cluster behind the guages will be the same as the HVAC controlls and radio ones. they are grain of wheat bulbs soldierd on to the bread borad.
So if ya feel up to it you cna get the bulbs from Radio hack and do it that way or just replace all of them once with a LED and be done .
Just remeber what EVER YOU DO. if you use L.E.D.'s you have to put in Resistors also. so the will take the loads.
Also you can do the rest of the dash to ;-)

If you can sodier they are so simpel to do it is funny.
but if you cant use a iron then dont do it. but they ar ento hard to change over at all.
the hardest part to doing any of them is to figure out the positive and Neg. sides on each light . they change and also are not marked.
how i do it is i have a old 9volt bat. with a resitor on it and i figure out what ones of the wires on the harness is for the dash lights i then plug in to it so that they will light up with the bat.
now you can take one off and put the LED in its place and continue on. Just remeber weather at each blub or in line you need a resitor for the LEDS or they will burn out as fast as you put power to them
