Can I use cv joints from 04 Impala on my 98 Monte?

 

Are you referring to taking apart the axel or just swapping the cv shaft ? Do either of the cars have an ABS sensor ? The price of a new/rebuilt CV shaft is pretty cheap, so taking one apart and swapping joints, buying boot kits ( boot, grease, clamps) would probably cost more than a shaft with warranty. If you're wondering if they are the same ( interchangeable) you can match them up side to side and decide. Option "B" would be call the part's store(look online) and check to see if the part numbers are the same.
