Hi,would anyone have a clue to what CD player would be compatible w/my 2000 monte carlo so i can still use my buttons via steering wheel? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

The best compatible CD player for your monte and to continue to use your steering controls would be an OEM GM radio and CD player which is probably still available at an online radio shop for your year Monte. You need to purchase an unlocked radio so this way you wont need to spend around $120 to have the dealer program it for you. The second choice would be an aftermarket radio and CD head unit but you would have to purchase adapters to continue to use your steering wheel controls as well as your other features. That can add up to a nice chunk of change especially if you have a local car stereo shop do the installation. I am running the OEM radio with CD and cassette for my 2002 Monte along with a Kenwood 4 channel digital amp at 125 watts per channel along with a 500 watt subwoofer set up in the trunk and it sounds great!

I have the OEM radio/CD player in it now, unless your not talking about the factory radio/CD player?! It would benice to keep my radio/CD player but as you know it dont have RCA hook ups which is the reason i need a new CD player. If i did get the aftermarket radeo and CD head unit with adapters, where could I purchase them?

PS. So if your running a 4 channel amp at 125,does that mean its a 500 watt amp? SORRY new to subs, amps.

Why do you want RCA outputs? If you want your OEM head unit to have low level out (RCA output) then you will have to purchase a high level to low level converter/adapter and tap into your speaker wires for that to work then you will need an outboard amp to have sound. Any good auto stereo shop can help you out with that situation. I have a 4 channel Kenwood digital outboard amp with yes...total output is 500watts RMS with 125 watts RMS per channel along with a seperate sub with a 500 watt mono amp for the sub in the trunk.
