Exclamation cold start up fine, dies after 18 min, no (spark)fire afterwards

97 monte carlo, 3.1, V6

I took my car to a local garage, they kept it for like 2 weeks, gave it back and said all they can come up with is possibly the ECM is going bad.....So here I am trying to fix it myself....

When i start the car, it will run perfectly fine for 17-18 min....(no more) then it just dies, like someone just turned off the key,

It will not restart until the next day....

Once it dies, i am not getting any spark to any of the plugs.... I have replaced the following parts in the process of trying to fix it...

Plugs & Plug Wires
3 New Coil Packs
Ignition Control Module
ECM- Flashed to VIN
Fuel Pump
Fuel Filter
2 relays- labeled - IGN SYS

Still runs for 18 min and dies......?

Any help would be much appreciated....

Kenny

Next time it dies, unplug the MAF and see if it starts up again.

Try what Chibi said. If that doesn't work, you may need a cam sensor and/or crank sensor.

Crank sensor for this car isn't too much. Beware, there might be two of them. You want the one that doesn't have wires showing. Installation can be a bitch though. Mechanic recommended.

At the moment, I'm having a similar problem with my 95 3.1. It runs for a while and seems to randomly shut off while sitting idle. Also shuts off if idle and I turn the steering wheel far to the sides. Not sure what that is.
