2004 Monte Carlo LS
Fuel gage is not registering right. Fairly sure it is the gauge because it does not return all the way to empty when key is turned off. How accurate it is when the key is turned on depends on how far it returns toward empty. The method GM uses to bottom the gauge each time the key is turned on seams as if they calibrate (re-zero) it each time you turn it on.
Folks on line are rebuilding these for $60 saying they are going to replace all stepper motors. Mine has 4 motors. Does it seam logical it can be done for this price?
Has anyone ever succeeded in repairing their own without replacing the motors? If so, how did you do it?
Thank you
