Question cluster

Hey I have an 02 ss n I'm thinking my fuel gauge is messed up its not reading correctly n its not the fuel pump I know for sure. Is there a fuse I can check or do I have to replace the whole damn thing?

There's something called the fuel sending unit that will probably need to be replaced.

I believe we have a how-to on it.

A fuel sending unit isn't part of the fuel pump? Plus I called the dealer about the cluster n they said there isn't n in between as far as gauges go they are either working or not no in between. Is that true? Id think so considering they'd want my business but I'm not sure

Ok I took my car to the dealersip to have the cluster checked n they told me its fine... they said its either the sending unit or the wire conecting the sending unit to the gauge...either way I'm getting it done for free my pump is still under warrenty...hey 1 more question if a fuel pump is going bad will it also send too much fuel to the engine thus poor mpg as well?

the sending units are common problems on monte carlos and impalas. and i cant see it giving you bad mpg because of the fuel pressure regulator

if the pressure gets too high, the regulator will release the extra pressure back. what is your mileage?
