The traction control on my 04 SS turns on sometimes when I shift from reverse to drive. Now my check engine light came on. Could the two be related. Thanks for your help

 

Does it ever come on while driving or just as your post states? I wonder if one of the Wheel sensors have a bad wiring connection? It can happen and can make traction control issues?

CEL and wheel hub problems are different issues. Wheel hub will throw ABS and TRAC lights, your CEL is usually an emissions related problem.

Could also just be something electrical, maybe a loose ground?

I would start by getting the CEL read to see what that issue might be.

 

It only does it after shifting to drive from reverse. Is there an easy way to get to the sensors?
