Just got back from Autozone.....got a code P0306-"Cylinder 6 misfire"....turns out that the mechanics who replaced my wires yesturday didn't replace the spark plugs themselves, the guy at Autozone said if the plugs were bad to start with than changing just the wires is like taking a shower and putting your dirty underwear back on!! I'm just curious if the remote start has anything to do with it????

See there ya go. I would replace the plugs then. Like said before, remote start won't work when there's a problem. Just probably couldn't fire up due to the bad plug.

I'm just worried that the remote starter could possibly be the reason for the bad plugs and wires.....is it possible????

I highly highly doubt that would be possible.

All I could think is that the remote start failed because unlike turning a key you don't hold it until it fires over. So the poor firing plug couldn't get it to start remotely and the car quit trying for safety purposes.

No problem. If you aren't doing the plugs yourself, I would take it back to that last mechanic and tell them that their "fix" was clearly wrong and you demand them to make it right I.E. put on the new plugs at a discount / free.

I would definitely change out all your spark plugs before assuming anything else. If the misfire persist after than, maybe look into a bad ignition coil pack?

I bought an Innova 3150 scanner that reads abs codes as well. First time the wife,s Caravan tripped the ABS light, I paid $225 to have it fixed - (LF wheel speed sensor). ABS light returned several months later. Scan tool in hand, I dx'd it as a bad RF wheel speed sensor. Cost this time - new sensor - $30.99. Labor (me) $0.00.

Here's an update on my problems....I had all 6 sparkplugs replaced, all 6 plug wires replaced AND a new coil pack installed....ran beautifully....until, I used my remote start...WHAM-O!!!...engine light came back on!!!! I disconnected the battery for about 5 mins and put the terminal back on and no more engine light!!!.....I also had a 4th TPMS sensor installed so the computer was reset.....I'm wondering if using the remote starter before the computer is reset can make the engine light come on????? I'm doing a little test to see if the engine light comes back on after normal driving without using my remote starter for a few days....then I'll try using the remote starter again and see what happens!!! I think somebody told me that there could possibly be a bad ground on the remote starter that could cause this problem??? Anyone else have this type of problem???? My car is still under warranty and hasn't even passed inspection/emmissions because everytime I get the car srviced the computer is reset and is not ready for emmissions...what a pain in the ***!!!!!

Wow, seriously, what a pita!

I know the remote start will NOT work if there is any engine light on...but as for it causing the engine light??? IDK what to tell you, seems weird that something like remote start would cause an engine light.
