Default Carb Backfire

I am new to the forum and have been sitting on the sidelines and gathering alot of info from this board. I have an 85 with a 383 from Smeding Performance I have no idea of the quality of this motor except that it is brand new from the factory with probabaly 3000 miles on it. It has a Quick Fuel Tech 750 vacuum secondary carberator on it. Here is a link to the rest of the specs. http://www.smedingperformance.com/ch...83Extreme.html

I have recently experienced alot of backfire throught the carb only on hard acceleration mainly from a stop. Does anyone have any ideas where i should start looking. I will post some pics as soon as i get some. I just bought it two months ago and love it but really want to get the fuel system dialed in. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Could be a valve to tight! My big block did that a couple of times when i did the start up on it and i adjusted the valves while the engine was running and it fixed the problem. Also could be a timing issue!
